Palm oil pressing,refining and fractionation(VI)-Special degumming
1. Special degumming
It was developed by the Swedish (Alfa-laval) company, also known as the acid refining method.
2. Specific process operation
Add 0.05%-0.2% phosphoric acid or citric acid to crude oil heated to 70°C. After mixing, keep it in an intermediate tank for about 5 minutes, and add dilute alkaline water for neutralization. If the neutralization operation is not sufficient, the gum viscosity will become too high and centrifugal separation will not be easy. If the neutralization is too high, the fatty acid will emulsify due to the saponification of fatty acids, which will increase the loss. Then hot water is added, after about 20 minutes of hydration and degumming, centrifugal separation is performed again.
3. Process parameters
Oil temperature: 75℃-90℃;
The amount of acid added: 0.1%-0.3% W/W (phosphoric acid or citric acid);
Detention time: 5min;
The amount of NaOH added: only neutralize with part of the acid, adjust the PH value, rather than neutralize with FFA;
Water addition: determined by phospholipid content;
Hydration time: 60min;
Washing water volume: 3%vol.
Process index:
Residual phospholipids: ≤20ppm;
Moisture: ≤0.5 ≤0.1 (vacuum drying).
